USAJobs was recently upgraded to a more user friendly format that simplifies the application process for all applicants. The new site explains various hiring polices and reduced government jargon so that applicants will better understand the process.
After registering online you can build and save up to 5 distinct resumes, save and automate job searches, apply for jobs, and explore special hiring programs. You can also see what jobs are in demand. Click Add Reference , enter the required information and click Save Reference. You may add up to five references on your resume. Repeat this step to add an additional reference or click Next to continue to the next step. Click the corresponding button under each section to add your information, enter your information and click Add or Save for each section once completed.
Click Finish to save your resume. Your new resume will appear in your Documents list. Click View on the resume icon to preview your resume. This could include classes, seminars, coursework, certifications or training that relates to the skills and experience the position requires. Consider listing professional or personal references who can vouch for your character, work ethic and dependability—such as colleagues, classmates and mentors. Include the languages you have experience in, and your level of proficiency.
You can add other relevant information, including awards, leadership activities, public speaking engagements or volunteer experience.
